ID – Identity Document
An identity document is a piece of paper or a card that has complete individual details to identify a person. Some of the most common documents that can be used as an ID card is Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Voter’s ID, Credit Card, Passport etc.
A typical ID card contains the following details:-
- Date of Birth
- Father’s Name
A unique number of that ID (like a passport would have a passport number)
An ID card is usually issued by any government organization who is authorized to make that particular card. Some countries consider driving license as the proof of identification in the absence of any formal proof of ID. For migrants, a passport is considered as a primary form of identification.
