PASCAL was named in honor of the French mathematician and philosopher “Blaise Pascal“.
The language was developed in the late 1970’s by Professor Niklaus Wirth. The objective of the language is to allow the development of programs that serves as a vehicle for the teaching of the important concepts of computer programming.
Applications of PASCAL
The main areas of application of PASCAL is to provide an easy learning platform for the students of computer programming. For the next 2 decades after 1970’s, it was the language of choice for most colleges, institutes and universities throughout the world.
