There are 3 different full forms for TDR. First one is related to Railway ticket booking through IRCTC, the second is in Banking, and the third one is related to an electronic instrument.
TDR – Ticket Deposit Receipt
A TDR is usually filed to get the refund of money from Indian Railway. It can be filed from the website of IRCTC (Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation).
A TDR could be filled for the following reasons:-
- Passenger not traveled
- Wrongly charged by TTE
- AC Failure
- Connecting train got late
- An e-ticket needed to be canceled after chart preparation
- Train Cancelled By Railways
TDR – Term Deposit Receipt
Term Deposit Receipt sometimes known as Fixed Deposit Scheme, is a type of account which holds the specified amount of money for a given tenure. Normally, fixed deposit schemes gives higher interest rates as compared to other modes of deposit. SBI calls its fixed deposit scheme as TDR or e-TDR.
TDR – Time Domain Reflectometer
Time Domain Reflectometer is an electronic device used to identify faults in metallic cables. An equivalent device for optical fiber is an optical time-domain reflectometer.
