TRAI – Telecom Regulatory Authority of India
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India is responsible for regulating telecommunication sector in India. The Authority was formed in the year 1997 and is headquartered in New Delhi, India. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India protects the rights of the consumer and maintains the balance between the consumer and the service provider.
The Authority was established with the motto of regulating upcoming private players in an Indian telecom industry. TRAI acts as a policy maker for Indian telecom players, like fixation/revision of tariffs which were earlier vested in the Central Government.
