UNO – United Nations Organization

United Nations Organization or simply “United Nations” is an intergovernmental organization established on 24 October 1945 after the second world war by 51 countries to promote international peace  and security. The organization is headquartered in international territory in New York City, with other main offices in Geneva, Nairobi, and Vienna.

The organization was established to promote cooperation among nations, better living standards, environment protection, social progress, economic development and achieving world peace.

The UNO has six principal organs:

1. The General Assembly
2. The Security Council
3. The Economic and Social Council
4. The Secretariat
5. The International Court of Justice
6. The United Nations Trusteeship Council
